The spot light is on young stars from the Belfast-based performing arts school, The Rainbow Factory at YouthAction Northern Ireland, as they take to the stage in yet another spectacular production in this year’s Christmas pantomime, Rapunzel.
If you are aged between 10 -25 and have a passion for the preforming arts, then the Rainbow Factory wants you and no better time to get involved than with a new term kicking off in January. With 22 weekly classes on offer across its bases in Belfast and Banbridge and over 300 attendees each week, there is an initiative for everyone who has an interest in the industry, weather that be through preforming or the more technical roles such as lighting and sound. To get involved contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
The almost sold-out pantomime, will be running from 30 November to 16 December and is entirely youth-led. With over 40 young people taking part in various roles to bring the high-quality theatre production to the stage; from music and acting to front of house and lighting.
Pantomime director, Cheryl O’Dwyer said: “Nothing screams ‘It’s Christmas’ more than pantomime season and we couldn’t be prouder of all our young people for the hard work they’ve poured into creating such a fantastic production. The audience is definitely in for a treat!
“At the Rainbow Factory we’re continuously seeking opportunities to reach young people and encourage them to get engaged in the arts and whether your thing is musical theatre, front of house hospitality or live music, we have something for you. The young people involved in our Christmas pantomime are all following their passions for the preforming arts and if this is something you also share, we’d love to hear from you.”
